If you haven’t seen the new CBS show Undercover Boss you have got to check it out!

I’m a TV on DVD kinda girl. There aren’t many shows that I get attached to in real time but I happened to catch the premiere of Undercover Boss after the Superbowl and I am HOOKED. It’s quickly become one of my favourite Sunday Evening activities. It’s a fantastic concept that should have become a reality TV staple a LONG time ago. Basically, the President/CEO/COO of a major corporation (in the 3 episodes so far they’ve been from Waste Management, Hooters, and 7-11) goes undercover straight from the top to the bottom/frontline positions to see how the decisions they make affect their organization and employees. It’s absolutely fantasic to see these guys leave the comforts of executive life and do some dirty work along side of the people who essentially keep the company running. They step into the role of cashiers, garbage men, factory line workers, etc.. which helps them identify problems and see how things are really going down with anyone knowing who they are. Usually they are trained for 3 or 4 different jobs in the span of a week. At the end of the show, they reveal their true identity to the people who trained them. Most of them are rewarded for being amazing employees and at the very least they know that all the hard work they do everyday has been noticed.  The execs take everything they’ve learned back to the boardroom to continue making their company better and more effective.
