As mentioned in a previous post, I am taking part in the BzzAgent DanActive Campaign. The free product coupon I received in my BzzKit was for a 4 pack of Danone DanActive Probiotic yogurt drink. I love free stuff and I love trying out new products, so I was super excited to take part! However, I had a hell of a time actually finding the 4 pack. I swear I went to at least 10 different stores before finding it on a rare trip to Price Chopper. I picked the blueberry flavour and went on my merry way home to try it out. Each bottle has 10 million L.Casei Defensis bacteria. It’s been proven to effectively reinforce  the body’s natural defences and can help reduce severity of cold symptoms. Gotta love good health benefits!

So, what did I think?

Well… to be honest, I thought it was absolutely disgusting. It tastes like runny, watered down, fruit flavoured milkshake leftovers. I actually gagged a few times because little blueberry chunks were passing over my tongue and down my throat while I was drinking it. I do not like chunky things floating in my drinks. I do not like drinking my yogurt. There’s something unnatural about it.

Obviously, my opinion is just one in a sea of billions, though, and a lot of people love DanActive and drink it everyday.  I’m grateful that I had the opportunity to product test it. Mostly because I would have been pretty ugly if I spent $4 on a case of it just to gag. But you never know until you try it, right?
