So far, my March Madness has been a big FAIL. I have not quit smoking. I have not lost any weight (in fact, I’ve gained about 7lbs in an alarmingly short period of time). I didn’t even finish cleaning my car and have since discovered an entire travel mug full of coffee knocked out of the cupholder and all over the floor making it smell like total ass! I am hoping maybe April will be my sweet “new lifestyle” lover.

I’m on my own for the quitting smoking and car cleaning, but apparently (and this does not really come as a secret) my boyfriend wants me to lose weight so badly he has decided to bribe me. $20 per pound lost. That means if I lose 50 pounds, not only will I (hopefully) look smokin’  hot but I’ll be a $1000 richer. Sounds like a pretty good deal, right? Right. Except it MORTIFIES me to let him see the scale which would be a requirement of the weekly poundage payout plan. I think I’m going to suck it up, though. I am going to take the bribe. I operate well on a reward system.

So, here it is: I will set my goal for exactly 50 pounds. No time limit but will ideally reach this goal in 6 months. 

I smell a challenge. Time to re-commit to my DietMinder and tie on my runners.

There is a blog I having been following for a couple years now called The Peach Pit. Lame 90210 reference stigma aside, it is bar none one of my favourite sources of amusement.

The writer (whom I do not know personally) is a 27ish journalism grad student living in “CapitalCity” and, as far as I’m concerned, a genius of wit and cleverness. I have never read one of her blog posts that didn’t make me howl with pleasure and giggle like a retarded kid that just flung shit at his unsuspecting sibling. It’s hysterical, swear to the Big G. She might even be funnier than Chelsea Handler.

I feel like Mother Nature is playing tricks on me. She gives me a few days of beautiful weather, fills me with hope of spring, and then spews cold and snow on my delusions of happier times. It’s unfair. Yesterday it was 18°C. We went and spontaneously bought a spectacular new BBQ. I bought 2 varieties of onion bulbs to plant today. But that’s not going to happen because today it’s 1°C and snowflakes are falling. No onion planting. No BBQing. No spring.

This afternoon, I successfully assembled the new ”Coleman Even-Heat 3-Burner Natural Gas BBQ” all by myself while Love Muffin re-gripped his golf clubs in preparation for his annual  imaginary PGA tour of Lambton County. It’s a real beauty. It has a burger capacity of 28 AND a side burner! My grillmaster status is going to be untouchable this summer, I know it. I can see a lot of get togethers in my future. Everyone can come over and eat my BBQing and stare in awe at the corn crop I intend to grow in my garden this year. I’m getting restless waiting. When I get restless waiting, I usually try growing vegetables inside the house only to kill them 3 times over before they can even be planted outside. I vowed not to do that this year. Come on nice weather!

Things involving rrrolling have really been getting my goat lately. First of all, I am 0 for 5 on Tim Horton’s lousy Rrroll Up the Rim to Win bullshit. Second, WalMart has launched the worst commercial in their history as far as I am concerned. I can’t even stand it. It drives me wild with rage every time I see it. I considered posting the commercial here in case you hadn’t been a victim to this heinous visual assault yet, but no one even likes it enough to put it on YouTube. Stupid WalMart marketing team.
